SYY is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Bellevue, WA

As an HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in managing personnel-related matters for our restaurant chain. Your responsibilities will span from recruiting and HR operations to training staff, evaluating their performance, and fostering a positive work environment. We’re looking for someone who can ensure our employees are engaged, well-trained, and productive, ultimately providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Staffing:
  • Create hiring plans for front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house staff.
  • Promote open roles using online and print job ads.
  • Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates.
  • Prepare job offers and employment contracts.

o Track key recruiting metrics like turnover rates and source of hire.

2. HR Operations:

  • Maintain employee records, including attendance, leave balances, and performance evaluations.
  • Handle employee inquiries related to benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries.
  • Implement and enforce HR policies and guidelines.

3. Employee Training and Talent Development

  • Develop and implement training programs for new hires and existing staff.
  • Conduct orientation sessions to introduce employees to company policies, safety procedures, and job expectations.
  • Coordinate with department managers to provide job-specific training.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and adjust programs as needed.

o Organize team-building activities and events.

  • Identify high-potential employees and create development plans to nurture their skills and career growth.

4. Manage Performance Management Program

  • Design and oversee performance appraisal processes.
  • Collaborate with managers to set performance goals and expectations.
  • Offer consultation to performance discussions.
  • Provide guidance on performance improvement plans and recognition programs.

5. Employee Relations:

  • Foster positive relationships between employees and management.
  • Address employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts.
  • Promote a respectful and inclusive work environment.

6. Compliance and Regulations:

  • Stay informed about labor laws, employment regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Ensure our restaurant chain complies with legal obligations related to employment practices.
  • Handle any necessary reporting or documentation related to compliance matters.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Work experience as an HR Manager or HR Generalist, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Hands-on experience with recruiting for junior, senior, seasonal, and part-time positions.
  • Good knowledge of regulations around flexible types of employment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to learn and contribute. Ability to adopt to fast path environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a similar field.
  • An additional diploma in Restaurant Management is a plus[1].

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $4,500.00 per month
